aquarium tank

Away from the headlines of many fish lose their fish too soon. For many caregivers the first time their first aquarium fish tank, along with emotion and excitement quickly becomes horror when his new collection of fish not taken the first week.
Your aquarium should provide ideal conditions for fish to survive. Water conditions are very sensitive and that these fish require optimal conditions for health. Usually there is very little warning and if you make a mistake, you knows, maybe too late.
There are 3 common mistakes I see most beginners when setting up your aquarium.
1. Go too small
Most people think I want to start slowly and get a small tank. The problem is that with a small volume of water with virtually no margin for error and even experienced aquarium keepers can compete with small tanks. It is simply too difficult to maintain optimum water conditions. With tanks larger and larger volumes of water, it is much easier to monitor conditions. To take no risk, you should try to get at least tank 20 liters – especially if this is your first aquarium. This also gives enough room to keep a good collection of fish.
Let the stabilizing 2.Not water
Aquarium Kits are new in the world of aquarium fish. These tanks are shipped and packaged as complete "plug and play" aquariums. Because of this many owners of new vessels into the mistake of thinking that simply plug in, add water and add fish immediately.
No matter where you live, your tap water is full of potentially harmful chemicals that can kill new fish in the first 24 hours. Your tank has to stabilize first. It is necessary to treat water to neutralize harmful chemicals and allow gas to escape harm. You should let your tank run for a day or two and test the water before adding your first fish.
3. Inadequate filtration
The filter is the heart of your aquarium. Is constant movement of water to remove waste particles can contaminate the water. For the filter to accumulate all the dirt that needs to be cleaned and replaced frequently to ensure that your tank maintains a healthy environment for your fish.
The greater the volume of water in the tank, and a filtering system that you will need. As a golden rule of filter should circulate all the water at least 3 times per hour. This should give a good indication of what size to get, but if you Do not you always go a size up.
Avoiding these three mistakes that can be easily set up their first aquarium aquarium successfully. Maintaining a healthy aquarium can be challenging, but ultimately the reward is so valuable. Make sure you know what you are doing before they do it by investing in an aquarium book may well be worth the money.

So you think you're ready to learn how to breed betta fish? The only problem with the beta versions of reproduction, as a reward for it to be, is that the process can be very precise and complex. Without adequate support, this can be frustrating. Betta Fish farming is not just a matter of choosing healthy adults, the introduction of good, leading a man to build its nest, but also ensure that adult fish Betta not interfere with the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and water conditions are kept just right, and that juveniles are fed properly, etc. As you can see there are many factors that come into the farmed fish Betta correctly.
This article give you three easy tips to follow for success in learning to read Betta fish, as mentioned some useful additional resources my fish rearing.
Selection of fish: The beauty of this stage is that the male fish and female Betta is easy to differentiate. You want choose a candidate in a good state of health of each sex. In doing so, look for fish with bright colors. Make sure the fish are active and do not show signs of disease serious as lethargy.
In this selection phase, you must also choose a fish you think you have a good combination of colors. Beautiful parents make beautiful babies, this question is especially important in purely aesthetic, or if you sell betta fish.
Preparation Phase of Preparation is the most often overlooked, or dirty, to learn to read the Betta fish. Two weeks before mating, the fish, you will begin to increase their food intake. As always, you want to be careful not to overfeed, do you want your fish have more energy and strength instead of mating. Meanwhile, be worth considering to increase the amount of live food to feed the fish, because they are rich proteins and fats.
Just as a man preparing for something important, fish need lots of rest to prepare. If you have not noticed the track, Bettas are not very good of their hours sleeping. If they light a lamp, fish continue to swim around happily, but exhausted. During the two weeks preceding the court to turn their lights off early and allow plenty of rest. If this is not possible in their current environment, you might consider move their bottles in another room during this step.
The Most Important Step: Knowing what you are doing. Learning How to Breed Bettas from people who have already done so for years is always a great way to glean the specific information you need.

Gnathonemus petersii Elephantnose Fish $15.99 The Elephant Nose is an interesting fish with a long appendage on its snout below the mouth that looks like an elephant’s trunk. Its body is gray to black with a slender forked tail. The Elephant Nose is a nocturnal fish, hunting and feeding mostly at night. It uses its long snout to help it find worms, insects, larvae, and small crustaceans in the substrate. It is important to provide smooth-sided gravel or fine sand so that it does not injure itself when looking for food in this way. Elephant Noses will accept most small live foods, but can usually be trained to eat frozen foods and sometimes, sinking pellets. The Elephant Nose is able to produce a weak electric discharge that it uses in courtship and in locating prey. This fish is relatively peaceful toward other fish of similar size, but is territorial and aggressive with its own kind. For this reason they are best kept one per tank unless the aquarium is very large, about 200 gallons or more. Provide a heavily planted tank with soft, acidic water and subdued lighting. This provides natural hiding places and will help minimize stress. Elephant noses are sensitive fish, and are easily stressed by poor water quality. Frequent water changes are a must to keep this fish healthy. Use caution if it becomes necessary to add medications or other harsh chemicals to the tank as many of these products are harmful or fatal to the elephant nose. If using medications, read the instructions carefully to be sure that the product is safe for scale-less fish. It may be necessary to use a mild medication or use a product at half-strength. Gobioides broussonetti Dragon Fish $5.99 Dragon Fish, or Violet Gobies, are odd fish that are native to coastal brackish marine estuaries of the western Atlantic coast from the Carolinas to Brazil. In captivity, they seem to thrive the best in brackish water. They are characterized by a long, silver-violet eel-like body, with dorsal and ventral fins that extend all the way to the tail. They have tiny eyes and a large mouth in which their sharp teeth can be clearly seen. Despite their predatory appearance, Dragon Fish are not big predators. They have poor eyesight, and do little hunting. Dragon Fish often feed by scooping mouthfuls of sand or mud, swallowing edible items, and spitting out the rest. Their natural diet consists mainly of diatoms, worms, and small crustaceans. In the aquarium, they will accept live and frozen blackworms, bloodworms, brine shrimp, ghost shrimp, krill, as well as sinking pellets and occasionally, tiny guppies. Due to their poor eyesight, Dragon Fish are often slow to find food, and do not get enough to eat before other fish consume all the food. Be sure that your Dragon Fish gets plenty to eat, or it may starve to death. Dragon Fish should be kept singly unless a large group can be kept in a tank of about 100 gallons or more. In small tanks and small groups, one larger Dragon Fish will dominate the others and some may be bullied or not get enough food. Dragon Fish can be kept with most peaceful fish that are too large to swallow. |

Is there sand that I use in a seawater aquarium than live?
Is there a kind of sand as a substrate for cheap water aquariums salt? I do not want to use the live arena this time … is expensive. Does anybody know a sandy plain Jane's okay to use? Live sand is sand that living organisms that growing in it. It is packaged and sold in most pet stores and Kick start cycle of a seawater aquarium … And then, something that really will make your fall jaw "Rock Live"! Maybe you should know what your talking about before jumping to conclusions that I was "smoking something". However, if there are real people that fish can help instead of trying to be nice ….
All or without substrate should make it harder to keep the cycle without substrate and leads much time to travel without live sand to seed it. I suggest the purchase of ordinary sand or sand from the beach (boiled and rinsed well) and the mixture of one or two pounds of sand alive to help accelerate the process.
